BANG! The Dice Game: Undead or Alive is an expansion for BANG! The Dice Game released in 2019 for 3–8 players, 15 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Michael Palm and Lukas Zach and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Player Elimination, and Dice Rolling.
BANG! The Dice Game: Undead or Alive includes five "modules" for BANG! The Dice Game that can be used on their own or combined in any way desired. This expansion adds eight new enraged gunslingers and two new duel dice for fighting duels. If you lose a duel, you must draw a duel wound token. During your turn, each duel wound token you have cancels one identical symbol rolled on a die that you decided to keep. The new dice also feature another new symbol: the whiskey bottle. If you roll a whiskey bottle during your turn and you have no duel wound tokens to discard or if you lose two or more life points in one turn, you must draw a rage card; the symbols on those cards are added to the results of the dice! With four or more players, you can play the "Undead or Alive" module, which adds a deck of boneyard cards. If the boneyard overflows with corpses, a zombie outbreak might begin!
BANG! The Dice Game: Undead or Alive supports 3–8 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for BANG! The Dice Game: Undead or Alive is 15 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
