Business Walrus: A Party Game is a board game released in 2021 for 4–20 players, 30 minutes per game, and ages 17 and up. Its main mechanics are Hand Management, Player Judge, and Storytelling.
Business Walrus is a brand-new party game where friends compete to invent products and win billions of dollars from the world’s wealthiest, most powerful investor: the Business Walrus. ClickHole’s newly announced party game Business Walrus appears to share some similarities with Cards Against Humanity, featuring a deck of minimalist cards with stark text that prompt answers from the players, as well as other improv-led games such as Funemployed and Patently Stupid. The game seemingly moves away from CAH’s fill-the-blank format by challenging players to instead pitch their inventions out-loud to the titular billionaire investor, who also happens to be a walrus. Cards include “asks” - which require players to create a product based on the requirement - and “must haves”, which augment their invention with necessary features. Walrus Surprise cards add in an extra gameplay twist during pitches - for example, by requiring the players to sing a jingle for their product or explain why the previous player’s invention was a bad idea. Players judge the best pitch and the player with the most pitches approved wins.
Business Walrus: A Party Game supports 4–20 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Business Walrus: A Party Game is 30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Business Walrus: A Party Game for ages 17 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Business Walrus: A Party Game has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
