Busstop: The Boardgame is a board game released in 2010 for 2–5 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 9 and up. It was designed by Kai Fujiwara and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Set Collection, and Auction / Bidding.
There are many types of people who arrive at a bus stop waiting to get on a bus; babies, kids, high school girls, working men, seniors and ETs(the Extra-Terrestrials). In this game it is your job to get the same type of people on to one of your buses, and to make sure your bus is full before taking them to their destinations. If you have more kinds of people than you have buses you will have to make some of them wait at the bus stop for another bus to come. If the game ends and you still have passengers waiting for a bus, you create unhappy customers and you receive negative Victory Points. This is the new version of card game Busstop. Cards changed into tiles, main board and player boards. A new kind of passenger called baby introduced. And several rules are changed.
Busstop: The Boardgame supports 2–5 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Busstop: The Boardgame is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Busstop: The Boardgame for ages 9 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Busstop: The Boardgame has a complexity rating of 1.8 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
