Clandestine is a board game released in 2026 for 1–5 players, 75–150 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Jason Brooks and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Set Collection, and Modular Board.
For those who dare venture into the shadows of darkened alleys, one can hear the whispers and plotting as the seeds of the future's most powerful secret societies take root. Discovery of mysterious, ancient and even enchanted relics have aspiring groups experimenting with strange energy and manipulating the public to further their research into the unknown. Each society takes a different path to uncover impactful secrets while maximizing the intrigue it generates with its actions. This thematic, strategy game leverages mancalas within interconnecting rondels allowing players to conduct actions in a shared space while planning ahead for unique actions within their own societies. Will you generate the most intriguing secret society or will your society's efforts be lost to the ages? Play secrets, activate a public or society leader, and conduct clandestine actions on your turn to discover relics, research secrets, cleanse your society of chaos, or more in this deep strategy game with quick turns. The game ends when a player upgrades their Society to the max level (5). The winner is the player whose Society has generated the most Intrigue (victory points). —description from the designer

The listed playing time for Clandestine is 75–150 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Clandestine for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.

The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
