Green Gold is a board game released in 2026 for 1–4 players, 40–80 minutes per game, and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Toni López and its main mechanics are Contracts and Stock Holding.
Tea is no longer an exotic luxury, but a staple of everyday life and a driving force behind London’s prosperity. From the salons of high society to the bustling docks, demand is booming, and the City stands at the heart of a vast trading empire. As the head of an import office, you must seize this opportunity. Secure the finest teas to fulfil lucrative contracts across the City, then reinvest your profits in the stock market and profit from the growth of the most successful companies. Manage your resources wisely, serve the Crown, and outmanoeuvre your rivals. In the capital of the world, only the sharpest merchant will build the greatest fortune and claim victory. In Green Gold, you compete to successfully run your tea trading office in Victorian London. Throughout the game, you will select workers to perform different actions, such as importing tea, expanding companies, opening trading posts, negotiating in the City, fulfilling contracts, investing in the stock market, or serving tea to the Crown. These actions will allow you to gain resources, improve your office, and access new business opportunities. The game ends when the Dividend Token reaches the last space of its track or when the available Shares of 3 companies have run out. After the final scoring, the player with the most money wins the game. —description from the publisher
Green Gold supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Green Gold is 40–80 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Green Gold for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Green Gold has a complexity rating of 3.5 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-weight game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
