Judge for Yourself is a board game released in 1998 for 2–6 players, 90 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by David Mair.
Ever been accused of being judgmental (as if that's a bad thing)? Well, here's your chance to shine. In this game of true court cases, players are in the position to judge for themselves. Five hundred cards outline the cases--and with names like "Trespassing Hounds," "Shocking News," "Forced Nuptials," and "Quality Chicken," players are sure to be intrigued. The game can be played by two players or two teams. To start, a team rolls the die. A 1, 2, or 3 lets them know how many scorecard spaces they can fill in if they arrive at the correct verdict. After reading a case, they deliberate, debate, and finally decide for or against the plaintiff. A correct verdict advances the team. An incorrect verdict leaves them cooling their heels. The first team to arrive at the finish line wins. Sometimes being judgmental feels good. --Wendy Slotboom

Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Judge for Yourself for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Judge for Yourself has a complexity rating of 1.4 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
