Martial Art: Clans is an expansion for Martial Art released in 2020 for 2–4 players, 10–30 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Jonathan Ruland and Adrian Marrs and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Hand Management, and Simultaneous Action Selection.
The great clans rise for war in this expansion for Martial Art. Clans introduces unique powers, leaders, and dojos. Each player chooses a clan at the start of the game. Your clan gives you a special power that you can use to build your hand or increase your strength in battle. The 8 clan powers add an incredible new level of strategic depth to your games of Martial Art. Clan leaders are exceptionally powerful cards which whole strategies can be built around. You gain your clan leader by winning a new type of land card called a dojo. The dojo itself adds interesting new decisions to 3- and 4-player games. Which is more valuable to you, a higher point land or a dojo which gives you your clan leader? The choice is yours. -description from designer
