Murder Mystery Mansion is a board game released in 2008 for 2–6 players, 15 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. Its main mechanics are Memory.
Murder Mystery Mansion comes with a 3-D mansion card rack and features anime-style artwork. The first player or team chooses four different cards; a murderer, a weapon, a location and a motive. The cards are placed behind the 3D mansion, so the other player or team can't see them. The second player or team tries to solve the mystery. They choose four cards, like the first player, and place them upon the stairs. The first player or team tells the other which cards are right. If the second team or players guess the right murderer, weapon, location and motif before they reach the top of the stairs, then they earn a point. Now the players or teams change their position. The first player or team which reaches the top of the stairs with the scoremarker win the game.
Murder Mystery Mansion supports 2–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Murder Mystery Mansion is 15 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster.
