Roll 'em Fold 'em is a board game released in 2021 for 1–4 players, 20 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede and Ralph Querfurth and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Square Grid, and Connections.
In Kannste Knicken ("Can bend"), everyone plays at the same time, marking off spaces of their choice on their individual player sheet based on the roll of two special dice each turn. You can fold over a corner of your paper, but only after marking all of the smiley faces in that corner. But will you fold over the corner just a little bit or much more? You need to mark off more smiley faces to "bend" more of the paper, but you receive a permanent bonus each time that you do. Whoever first bends all four corners on their player sheet, then connects the revealed target symbols on their sheet wins. Kannste Knicken includes four types of player sheets with differing degrees of difficulty.
Roll 'em Fold 'em supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Roll 'em Fold 'em is 20 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Roll 'em Fold 'em for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Roll 'em Fold 'em has a complexity rating of 1.2 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game.
