Save the President is a board game released in 1980 for 2–6 players, 90 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Jack Jaffe and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Dice Rolling, and Point to Point Movement.
[from the box description] Save The President is played on a representational map of Washington DC. As the president goes from the White House to the Capitol for his inauguration, half of the players - the assassins - try to intercept and terminate his Presidency. The remaining players - the Americans - are sworn to defend him - but the game's flavour is established at game-start when each player is dealt an ID card in secret... So, you can't tell your friends from your enemies and you can't tell who is winning the game until the game's over and the IDs are revealed. Expanded by: Save the President: The Odd-Ball Scenario
Save the President supports 2–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Save the President is 90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Save the President for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
