Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics III is an expansion for Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics released in 2013 60 minutes per game and ages 14 and up. It was designed by Seth Johnson and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Dice Rolling, and Action Points.
Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics 3 puts you in command of starships from the Star Trek universe, including such factions as the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, the Dominion, Ferengi, and Vulcans. Tactics 3 adds four new factions: the Bajorans, the Kazon, Species 8472, and the Borg. Tactics 1, 2, and 3 are intended as a standalone game system, 100% compatible with the HeroClix core rules system. So even though Tactics operates by the same rules and Powers and Abilities card that other HeroClix miniature games are played with, it exists outside of the Modern and Golden Age tournament environments and is played as its own game. (e.g., no Spiderman vs. USS Enterprise. There's Star Trek HeroClix: Away Team for that.) Tactics 3 features 28 pre-painted ships and will be available for sale in both a 4-ship starter product and single-figure blind boosters.
The listed playing time for Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics III is 60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics III for ages 14 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone.
