About the game

The Battle of Britain is based on the great air campaign between the German Luftwaffe and the British Royal Air Force Fighter Command in August and September of 1940 . . . in this game, YOU may be able to reverse history! The first operational air combat game, and perhaps the first commercial air combat wargame. Each counter represented a formation of one or more aircraft (as assigned by the players). A turn lasted ten minutes and each hex on the mapboard was ten miles across. This game also had one of the first seperately available Play By Mail kits! Now finally added to the Geek. Battle of Britain Play by Mail Kit.

Questions and answers

The Battle of Britain supports 2 players according to the catalogue. This is the publisher’s listed player count, so the game is designed for exactly that number of participants. Variants for other group sizes, if any, are described in the rulebook of your edition, so check it before setting up a different configuration.
