The Sinking of the Titanic is a board game released in 1975 for 2–4 players, 60 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. Its main mechanics are Roll / Spin and Move and Map Reduction.
The Titanic is sinking. Players must race around and rescue passengers from their state rooms and rush to the lifeboats before the ship sinks. After the ship sinks, you must get enough of food and water by visiting islands and/or drawing cards to stay alive until the rescue boat appears and the first one to make it there wins the game. The other lifeboats and all the other passengers in them are lost, leaving only the one victor and his passengers who are saved.

Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for The Sinking of the Titanic is 60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists The Sinking of the Titanic for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone.
