Blooming Field is a board game released in 2024 for 1–4 players, 20–30 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Yaniv Kahana and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Set Collection, and Pattern Building.
Draft cards over 3 rounds to plant sets of multicolored and same-colored flowers in your field, while trying to create the combination that will give you the highest score. Placing cards on your field requires you to maintain numeric order, and you will need to find a careful balance between taking the colors that you need and not spreading yourself too thinly, and limiting your options for future rounds. Players simultaneously draft and pass cards to place them on their fields. New cards are positioned adjacent to existing cards, which must be of a higher or lower value, depending on the placement location. Players aim to create sets of multicolored flowers, or groups of same-colored flowers. At the end of each round players score the multicolored sets, with 4 or more different colors. At the end of the game players also score the same-colored flower groups.
Blooming Field supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Blooming Field is 20–30 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Blooming Field for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Blooming Field belongs to these categories: Card Game and Puzzle. Its main mechanics are Hand Management, Set Collection, and Pattern Building. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns.
