Duffers is a board game released in 2020 for 1–4 players, 60–90 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by Duane Wheatcroft and its main mechanics are Solo / Solitaire Game and Deck, Bag, and Pool Building.
The golf-inspired deck-building game Duffers is based on how us non-professionals play golf. We hook the ball, we slice it, we end up in the trees, but every once-in-a-while we hit that perfect shot that keeps us coming back for more — more punishment, that is. As with traditional golf, the objective is to finish the course with the lowest score (# of Strokes). To set up a round of Duffers, players choose up to nine holes from the 18 included with the game. Gameplay is all about building the perfect "bag" or deck. Each player opens with the same starter deck. Every turn is a new hand and a chance to purchase clubs, crew, and equipment from the Pro Shop or attempt to complete a hole. Fun fact: You can finish the holes in any order, which is important because any holes not completed by the end of the game are marked as triple par on your score card. The game ends when one player finishes the course or the Pro Shop runs out of cards. The only thing left to do is add up the scores, crown the Duffers Master for this round, and plan your next tee time. —description from the designer
Duffers supports 1–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Duffers is 60–90 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Duffers for ages 12 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Duffers has a complexity rating of 2.6 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a medium-light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.

The catalogue lists Duffers as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
