Flitting Bad Wolf is a board game released in 2016 for 2 players, 15–25 minutes per game, and ages 6 and up. It was designed by Chih-Fan Chen and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Hand Management, and Take That.
Big Bad Wolf is so annoying! No one wants to be his neighbor! People start to move around in the town to stay away from him. Will you be lucky enough to live happily ever after — or end up being annoyed by the Big Bad Wolf for the rest of your life? Flitting Bad Wolf is a microgame of deduction and bluffing. Players try to get the most valuable cards while avoiding a visit from the Big Bad Wolf! On a player's turn, they may choose to (1) offer a hand card to the opponent (who may refuse), or (2) play a card and execute the ability. Players alternate turns until no one has any cards in hand, and the round scoring takes place. The game is played for a number of rounds until one player has scored 11 or more points to become the winner.
Flitting Bad Wolf supports 2 players according to the catalogue. This is the publisher’s listed player count, so the game is designed for exactly that number of participants. Variants for other group sizes, if any, are described in the rulebook of your edition, so check it before setting up a different configuration.
The listed playing time for Flitting Bad Wolf is 15–25 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Flitting Bad Wolf for ages 6 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Flitting Bad Wolf has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
