Hölle auf Erden is an expansion for Nuts! released in 2006 for 1–8 players, 120 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Ed Teixeira and its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Simulation, and Campaign / Battle Card Driven.
From the Publisher's website: Hölle auf Erden (Hell on Earth) A Zombie Supplement for NUTS! World War Two... The “Big One”, what’s not to like? Big tanks, rat-a-tat-tat machine guns, pin up art on airplanes. Oh yeah, what’s better than that? Zombies! You know, the walking dead, “brains”, scary things that go bump in the dark. What is it about Zombies? Yeah, what’s better than that? How about a WW2 game with Zombies? Now you’re talking! Welcome to HÖLLE AUF ERDEN or HOE. What you have here is the blending of “NUTS!” the man-to-man skirmish game from Two Hour Wargames and “All Things Zombie”, the game of surviving during a zombie breakout. It’s about Allied forces in WW2 running into hordes of the undead as a result of Hitler’s last big gamble to win the war. If you’re looking for something a little bit different you’ve come to the right place. Go grab some figures and let’s get it started! We've designed HOE to be played with any figures you already have and in any scale. So pull out those favorite figures, slip in your favorite Zombie movie, and remember... JUST PLAY THE GAME! HOE is a supplement to “NUTS!” and not a stand-alone game. So you’ll need to have a copy of ”NUTS!” to play HOE.
Hölle auf Erden supports 1–8 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Hölle auf Erden is 120 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Hölle auf Erden for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Hölle auf Erden belongs to these categories: Fighting, Wargame, and Horror. Its main mechanics are Dice Rolling, Simulation, and Campaign / Battle Card Driven. Categories describe the theme and setting of a game, while mechanics describe what players actually do on their turns. Each mechanic links to a catalogue hub with similar games, which helps when you want something comparable.
The credited designers of Hölle auf Erden are: Ed Teixeira. These credits come from the published game data and name the people responsible for the game’s design, not its illustrators or publishers. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists Hölle auf Erden as an expansion for Nuts!. Expansions add new content, rules or scenarios to the base game and usually cannot be played on their own, so you need Nuts! to use it. Check that your edition of Nuts! is compatible, as some expansions were revised between editions.
