Hyper Slide is a board game released in 2007 for 1–2 players, 10 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Todd Kurtzer, Sam Unsicker, and Hiram Johnson.
Be quick as you flick, slide or shoot the different-colored hyper discs under the arch. As the game unit calls out the sequence of colors for you to pass, the game knows if you've passed the right disc or not. Pass 'em fast before the buzzer blasts! Obey the voice commands, get your brain in the game and break the code, or guess which color will be called next. Play with a friend or practice solo. Tabletop slide-and-pass excitement features electronic lights and sounds, plus an announcer's voice that talks you through three fast-sliding game modes. Electronic game unit comes with four Hyper Discs, each a different color; plus Hyper Band and instructions. The game also has a test mode on which let's you test the discs before playing the game. To enter the hidden disc test mode, hold down the two yellow buttons and either inserting a battery or pressing reset, let go of reset and then slide one of the discs near the bar. You can also keep the lights on, disable them and stop the voice repeating the color.
Hyper Slide supports 1–2 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for Hyper Slide is 10 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Hyper Slide for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Hyper Slide has a complexity rating of 1.1 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
Hyper Slide belongs to these categories: Action / Dexterity, Electronic, and Real-time. Categories describe the theme, setting and style of a game rather than its rules. The credited designers of Hyper Slide are: Todd Kurtzer, Sam Unsicker, and Hiram Johnson. Designer pages on MeepleRules collect other titles by the same designers, which helps when you enjoy a game and want to find similar ones.
The catalogue lists Hyper Slide as a base game. It can be played on its own with the components in the box and does not require any other title. Expansions, if any exist, add new content or rules on top of it and are listed separately in the catalogue with a link back to this base game.
