Stem & Branch: Spirit Scrolls is an expansion for Stem & Branch released in 2026 for 1–4 players, 20–40 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Michael Orion and its main mechanics are Grid Movement and Action Points.
This mini-expansion introduces Spirit Scrolls, unlocking multiple new paths to victory. The Spirit Animals you summon are now ancient guides sharing their knowledge of the five elements. To master a scroll, you must learn directly from these spirit animals. Each time you summon one, you gain an opportunity to study its matching elemental scroll. However, wisdom cannot be rushed: the older and more powerful the animal, the more profound its knowledge, and the more lifetimes it takes to understand them. By expending years on the Year Track, you represent the time spent meditating on their teachings. Once this knowledge is unlocked, you can utilize your newfound abilities to bend the cosmic calendar, manipulate the board, and turn the tides of time to your advantage. Harness the unique elemental powers shared by your animals, unlocking endless combinations to reshape your strategy
