The Cousins' War: Solo Expansion is an expansion for The Cousins' War (Second Edition) released in 2026 for 1 player, 15–45 minutes per game, and ages 12 and up. It was designed by David J. The Cousins' War Solo expansion enables you to play The Cousins’ War against an automated opponent, BoT. Your opponent is named after John Wenlock, 1st Baron Wenlock, a notorious turncoat, therefore called Baron of Turncoats or BoT. As a player, you pick a difficulty from Beginner, Standard, Advanced or Brutal. Then, you play the game as normal. You win the Solo game in the same way as the base game. Here is a summary of the differences between how BoT plays compared to you, the player. BoT... ◆ never uses its Action card for the Events on it. ◆ plays Actions from its Decision card. ◆ plays a number of Actions (1 to 3) by difficulty level. ◆ uses its Action card CPs for the strength of its Actions. ◆ uses your Action card to see if it has a Secondary Action... ◆ ...but uses its Decision card and a dice roll to decide what the Secondary Action is. ◆ uses printed dice on its Decision card instead of combat dice for its declaration when Active player. ◆ rolls dice to decide whether or not to challenge, and then combat dice as normal. ◆ doesn't use its CPs for nudging dice in combat (rerolls instead).
