This is Mine! is a board game released in 2023 for 2–4 players, 30–45 minutes per game, and ages 10 and up. It was designed by Sérgio Halaban and its main mechanics are Set Collection and I Cut, You Choose.
Uncle Howard has left us for good. An inveterate beatnik, he lived life to the fullest. Throughout his life, he visited many countries around the world and always brought back incredible memories and stories of his adventures. In his will, Uncle Howard was amused to propose that his heir nephews and nieces divide his estate between them through a game. In This Is Mine! each player represents one of Uncle Howard's heirs, who receives parts of the inheritance to be divided among all. As the uncle lived with great artists, many of these objects belonged to famous musicians, poets and writers of his time, all very precious! In each round, the starting player divides the revealed cards from the deck into lots. Each lot must contain at least one card, but the player can split it however they see fit. Then the starting player chooses one of the lots, placing his marker on it: "This is Mine!". Each of the other players must either agree or disagree. To disagree, a player must exchange the marker on the lot for his own and value one of the other available lots, adding money to it. When everyone accepts that the lot belongs to one of the players, a new round of claims begins, with one of the remaining players choosing one of the remaining lots. Inheritance Cards bring different types of items, and each type of item has a set-collection scoring. At the end of the game, the player with the most valuable inheritance wins. So, players must pay attention when dividing and try to gather the best collection of items. —description from the publisher
This is Mine! supports 2–4 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for This is Mine! is 30–45 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists This is Mine! for ages 10 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
This is Mine! has a complexity rating of 1.0 out of 5 from BoardGameGeek players, which makes it a light game. The rating reflects how much rules knowledge, planning and decision-making a typical game demands. Expect a longer first teach for heavier games, and use a preparation guide before game night.
