Dungeon Twister: Father Christmas is an expansion for Dungeon Twister released in 2007 for 2 players, 60 minutes per game, and ages 11 and up. It was designed by Christophe Boelinger and its main mechanics are Variable Player Powers, Hand Management, and Tile Placement.
(5/1) (Goodies Christmas 2007) The player who controls Father Christmas must select the contents of his bag before the beginning of the game. The bag holds a useless toy (cursed object), a useful toy (common object: rope, key, or torch), a magical toy (ring, scroll, etc...) and a warrior toy (weapon, armor...). The selected toys are put on the side of the board and cannot be chosen by the team that has Father Christmas (except for the common objects). When he is adjacent to a characters, friend or enemy, Father Christmas can, for 1 AP, offer him one of the toys in his bag. If the character already had an object (or two objects, in the case of the Paladin and Ice Witch), the object is given to Father Christmas in exchange. If Father Christmas is already carrying one object, the object being given to Father Christmas is discarded. Father Christmas can use the Flying Carpet (Lands of Ice expansion) without discarding combat cards.
Dungeon Twister: Father Christmas supports 2 players according to the catalogue. This is the publisher’s listed player count, so the game is designed for exactly that number of participants. Variants for other group sizes, if any, are described in the rulebook of your edition, so check it before setting up a different configuration.
The listed playing time for Dungeon Twister: Father Christmas is 60 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists Dungeon Twister: Father Christmas for ages 11 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
