SPACE INVADERS: THE BOARD GAME is a board game released in 2021 for 1–4 players, 25–60 minutes per game, and ages 13 and up. It was designed by Thomas Brockhage and Daniel Brockhage and its main mechanics are Deck, Bag, and Pool Building.
Based on the SPACE INVADERS arcade game. Competitive gameplay. Card/ Deck building game. Players move their cannons at the bottom of the board and can shoot the attacking Invaders that are added as new technology to their decks. Scanning invaders awards a secondary currency ("Alien Inteligence") that can be used to research otherwise unavailable technologies. The goal of the game is to find the most efficient way to convert energy into score and to have the highest score when the game ends. The game ends (in order of probability) when the invaders have destroyed the human base, if the alien command ship (UFO) has been defeated, or if only one player survives. —description from the designer
