目撃者たちの夜 (Witness Night) is a board game released in 2019 for 3–6 players, 5–10 minutes per game, and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Kuru Shibue (渋江玖琉) and its main mechanics are Negotiation and Hidden Roles.
Guests were invited to a remote mansion in the mountains. However, the owner of the mansion was killed later that night. The murderer is sure to be among the guest, but who is the killer? Each of the players first draws a character card. The first player then draws another card from the pile, keep one, and pass the unpicked card to the next player. The next player also keeps one and pass the other card until everyone got one card in their hand. The last card would be passed to the "guest room". The Player now has to discuss and vote for who is the killer or whether he is in the guest room.
目撃者たちの夜 (Witness Night) supports 3–6 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The listed playing time for 目撃者たちの夜 (Witness Night) is 5–10 minutes. This is the publisher’s estimate for a full game. The actual duration depends on the group, the player count and familiarity with the rules: first sessions usually run longer, while experienced groups often finish faster. Setup and teaching time are not included in this estimate.
The catalogue lists 目撃者たちの夜 (Witness Night) for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
