Saboteur: Map Swap is an expansion for Saboteur released in 2017 for 3–10 players and ages 8 and up. It was designed by Fréderic Moyersoen and its main mechanics are Hand Management, Take That, and Network and Route Building.
Saboteur: Map Swap is a single card expansion for Saboteur distributed during the 2017 Saboteur World Championship. If the basic game is used, the promo card replaces one copy of the „Map Card“ type. The card is played from the hand of one of the players, just like any other action card. The player playing this card can swap two different goal cards – without looking at them. The procedure is as follows (after the player played the card): 1. Player chooses two face-down lying goal cards (without looking at them) 2. (S)he shuffles those two cards face-down -> if the player is actually swapping them is up to the player 3. The player puts back those cards, swapped or unswapped
Saboteur: Map Swap supports 3–10 players according to the catalogue. This range comes from the publisher’s listed player count, so the game can be set up for any group size within it. Some setups, rules and scoring details may still vary by player count, so check your edition’s rulebook for the exact configuration.
The catalogue lists Saboteur: Map Swap for ages 8 and up. This is the publisher’s recommendation and reflects reading demands, rule complexity and small components rather than theme alone. Younger players can often join with help from an adult, so check the age guidance on your edition and consider your group’s experience with board games.
Saboteur: Map Swap belongs to these categories: Card Game, Fantasy, and Party Game. Its main mechanics are Hand Management, Take That, and Network and Route Building. The catalogue lists Saboteur: Map Swap as an expansion for Saboteur.
